An easy and inexpensive way to make a difference with us is to become a volunteer. Volunteers are the backbone of Bright Side Manor, and they make a huge difference not only to our residents, but also to our staff. There are countless ways to volunteer with us.
If you're interested in any of the opportunities below, or if you have an idea we haven't thought of, let us know. In the meantime, get started by downloading and completing our Volunteer Profile, then send it to us. We'll go forward from there. Or, visit us on VolunteerMatch.org.
Our volunteer hours are:
Wednesday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This is one of our key areas of focus here at The Bright Side Family, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organization. Get in touch with us today and see how you can lend a helping hand with this program.
Simply put, these volunteers visit with our residents. Walk with a resident around the premises. Talk about politics, current events, the theater, or books. Play trivia, Scrabble, cards, or a board game. Host bingo. Bring your favorite aromatherapy oils to share. Paint our female residents' fingernails. If you can think of it, chances are good our residents will enjoy it.
Bright Side doesn't close on holidays. While some of our residents spend holidays with their families, many residents remain at Bright Side. If you're looking for a special way to spend Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Year's Day, or any other holiday, remember that Bright Side has meaningful volunteer opportunities for you.
Through your School
Academic institutions have recently implemented requirements that require students to perform community service through volunteerism. Bright Side Manor offers a perfect opportunity for teens and young adults to do community service through their high schools or colleges.
